The AVSA honor Roll of African Violets, compiled by Floyd Lawson, can be found on page 5 in this issue. The plants that are listed in the Honor Roll, have appeared in the Best Varieties List for the three consecutive years. They are selections that have been voted on by the members of AVSA as best varieties to grow. The Honor Roll of African Violets is a good tool for choosing "tried and true" varieties for your collection.

AVSA contributor, Neil Lipson, shares his thoughts on "African Violet Leaf Propagation" on page 22. Neil explains his technique because "there's a lot more than just putting the leaf in water or a starting medium".

Sue Hoffman's "Sometimes, Laughter is the Best Medicine" is a fun story about the competition often found among a Club's "serious growers". (page 23)

"Tips and Tricks with Thrips" by Margaret Taylor is on page 45. Margaret shares her ideas and experiences in finding ways to deal with thrips, without using chemicals.
